Well Boys and Girls,

We have made it to June, what would've been your final month of Primary 4! We can't believe that we are on Week 9 of home schooling, but we are so proud of all the effort that you've made. We know that you are all continuing to work hard at home, helping out and staying safe. We hope you are enjoying this glorious weather, that is keeping us all going. Your work has been uploaded for this week, please remember - all of the work we upload is revision, so therefore you should have an understanding of it. Again, we want to stress that this work does not need to be printed.

Remember to keep reading every night for 20mins (or more) and continue to use your Mathletics, you know we are always checking. We understand that you might be finding it a little difficult to get yourself motivated as the weeks are marching on, but please, let's have one big final push now for the next few weeks.

We want to say a huge congratulations to Sophie & Kai on reaching their AR target! We are delighted that you are working so hard!

We would also like to give a special mention to Kai, this is his second time reaching his target this term with a brilliant score of 50 points!! WOW!! There is just no stopping you Kai! You are one of the best readers in the whole school!

Parents, as always we want to thank you for the immense support we have received in these uncertain times, and always!

Boys and Girls, Lockdown is a scary time, so we thought that we would write a rhyme,
To put a smile on all your faces! Not in our classroom, but in different places
Lots of time with your family, we are sure it fills you with enormous glee
Home school teaching from mum and dad, when you return to school you will tell us “Sure they weren’t that bad!”

Missing your friends and playing out! It probably makes some of you want to shout!
Nannies and grandads, we can’t see, but safety really is the key
Watching movies on Disney plus - Stops you all making such a fuss
Oh, how all of us will never complain about school ever again!

One day this will come to an end
We hope you all haven’t driven mummy around the bend!
We will look back and cherish the thought
Of the lessons we learnt and the ones we were taught.

Kind Regards

Mrs McGrellis &  Miss Ramsay

Outdoor Classroom

Please see the link below, outdoor learning ideas happening on the 21st May

Please continue to work hard on your reading boys and girls. It is very important, we loved this quote from Roald Dahl. Found it very poignant.

"So Matilda's young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world, like ships on the sea. They gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message - you are not alone."

Stay safe everyone, wash those hands and be kind to one another.

Message for our Primary 4s

Home Learning - Primary 4

This is an extremely challenging time for everyone. During this time we will try our best to ensure that our children continue to learn. Below is a plan for each week, which will be regularly updated us. This includes activities, resources and challenges. We would advise that your child follows a structured day, whenever possible. We appreciate that this will never replace teaching, however it is important that children are still given the opportunity to learn and reinforce prior learning at home. We do not expect parents to become teachers overnight! This is not home-schooling, it is us trying to support you during a global pandemic. Please do not feel that your child needs to complete every task or stress if they are finding things challenging. Feel free to browse all our learning areas for additional ideas and resources.

During this crisis we would like to set up a method of communication with parents. Below you will find the email address of your class teacher. Please email the relevant teacher with both the name of the parent contact and the child's name only. This will facilitate a group contact list to be created.

Boys and girls, we hope you are keeping well and we miss you lots from school!! We hope you have fun completing all the revision tasks we have set up for you.

Kind Regards

Mrs McGrellis & Miss Ramsay
