Week 12 - Fun Week

Fun Week

We have planned a fun week for our last week of term. Everyone has been working so hard and we are very proud of you. We would love to see all of our parents, guardians, children and staff taking part in the activities! There are some resources in the folder for you to use. Please send us your photos and videos!

Dear Aidan, Sophie, Lily, Cathair, Luke, Sean, Dabhóg, Casey, Maoliosa, Niamh, Cian, Layla, Lexi, Caoimhin, Sam, Kayla, Emily, Daire, Jay, Bobby, Deene, Amy, Daniel, Kyle, Ryan H., Ben, Olivia, Jonathan, Darcy, Alysha, Ryan, Jenna, Logan, Mark, Ella, Jack, Rossa, Aaron, Evan, Kaydee, Eve, Carly and Abeer,

So here we are, on our last week of P5 and what a journey we have had. Never, did we imagine, when we came into our class in September, that our year would be cut short so suddenly. One day we were learning the Macarena in Irish and the following week we were being told to stay at home! P5, we are so proud of you all. You have handled this situation so incredibly well and have proven yourselves to be the superstars that we always knew you were. You have all worked so hard at your online learning and week after week you have met the challenges we have set you. We have loved seeing your photos and your smiling faces whilst hard at work.

We have loved teaching each and everyone of you. You are an amazing bunch of children who work so well together. From the 1st September, we have told everyone who will listen that we love teaching you and that you are the best in the school! The respect and kindness that you have shown to each other is lovely to watch. Thankyou, from the bottom of our hearts, for making this year one of the nicest we have had.

Finally, be good for your parents/guardians. They deserve this summer holiday as much as you because they have had to work extra hard to make sure you have kept up with your work. Parents/Guardians, thankyou so much for all your hard work this year. You have done an incredible job and it has been an honour to teach your child. They are a credit to you!

We can not wait to see you in school this week and see your smiling faces! It has been so quiet without you!

Enjoy the activities this week,

Lots of Love

Mrs O’Donnell and Miss Ramsay

Home Learning - Primary 5

To all our girls and boys,

Mrs O’Donnell and Miss Ramsay here. We thought we would write you this letter to let you know that there is not a day that goes by where we don’t think about you. We really do miss each and every one of you and we hope you are all well and keeping safe. This is our fifth week off school and we know you probably have a lot of questions such as when we will be going back and when we will see our friends and school adults again. Unfortunately, we can’t give you an answer to this right now. I know that is strange because Miss Ramsay normally knows EVERYTHING and even she can’t give us an answer. So rather than think of all the things we don’t know, let’s look at what we do know…..

You are living through a time that will forever be remembered in history. When you grow up, people will talk about this time and what we did to get through it. They will talk about social distancing and how some shops closed. They will talk about how all the schools closed and how teachers had to send you your work online or make up learning packs. They will talk about how you painted beautiful, bright rainbows and stuck these on your windows and how you clapped so loudly on a Thursday night for the doctors, nurses and hospital staff who worked even when it might not have been safe to do so. This is a time that has never happened before and you are making history right now.

We know you are all so talented and we know that you are probably using this time to find new talents. Don’t be afraid to use this time to learn something new. Your new dance routines on tik-tok could make you a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent some day!! Mrs O’Donnell is using this time to tidy up her garden and is learning how to hula hoop and Miss Ramsay is using this time to learn how to bake and is even taking dance lessons in her living room!! She wants to be a backing dancer for Dua Lipa!

Go out to your gardens and play. Ask your parents to teach you the games that they played when they were little. Play skipping, hide and seek or make a fort in your garden with blankets! We promise you that you will laugh. LOUD! Cycle on your bike or go on your scooter when you go out for your exercise! If it’s raining, go out and jump in puddles….don’t be afraid to get soaked….it makes it even more fun!!

Finally P5, enjoy this time with your families in your homes. It really is precious. Tidy up your bedrooms, do your jobs about the house, share your toys and play games with your siblings…even the games you don’t really want to. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we see your smiling faces again, we are one day closer to this all being over!

Lots of Love

Mrs O’Donnell and Miss Ramsay
