Aspire Cup 2024
Today, Greenhaw Primary School football team were invited, by Kevin Morrison, to participate in the Aspire Cup.This tournament was organised to raise funds for the Oxford Bulls team, as they prepare to go across the water to play competitive football. It was truly a brilliant event, meticulously organised, and filled with outstanding football played by all teams. Congratulations to everyone involved for showcasing such a fantastic standard of football.
Our games were tight, and all our players put in a shift! We experienced it all, victories, defeat, and the dreaded penalties! The final brought a few nervous moments, but the team dug deep, clinching the victory and winning the very first Aspire Cup.
Winning the Cup was undoubtedly great for our team, but the real highlight for us was the challenge match against the Oxford Bulls. I couldn't be prouder of our team for their sportsmanship, even in the face of a tough defeat against the Bulls! It just highlighted the impact of inclusive sports and the remarkable spirit of community that can be achieved through shared experiences on the football pitch.
Once again, thank you to Mrs Jenny Martin and the entire St. Mary's College team for their hard work in organising and hosting such a memorable event!
A massive thank you to our parents for your very generous response to our fundraising efforts!
Thanks
Mr Martin
