P6 Christmas Art
In class we have been designing and creating our Christmas themed junk model penguins. To make these festive masterpieces we have been using a mixture of PVA glue and wallpaper paste to attach newspaper to our junk model structure.
We will be letting this dry before adding a layer of mod-roc next week to really strengthen our penguins. This is such a fun and creative way to make our Christmas-themed art.
We have been experimenting with a wide range of materials:
- PVA Glue (for sticking the materials together).
- Wallpaper Paste (for creating texture).
- Newspapers, Magazines, or Scrap Paper (for creating the body and features).
- Mod-roc to add that last layer of strength.
- Paint (for colouring the penguin).
- Orange Paper (for beak and feet).
- Googly Eyes or Black Paper (for eyes).
- Feathers, Cotton Balls, or Felt (for texture and extra details).
We’ll be making each penguin unique by experimenting with different poses, accessories, and facial expressions. This has been a brilliant project to get creative while celebrating the festive spirit of Christmas!
Keep your eyes peeled for more updates.
