The sun was shining, the music blaring and the children were ready to go.
Toes on the line,little hearts pounding,waiting for the whistle to blow.
Ready,steady, go and they were off down the field towards the finishing rope.
Running,jumping,balancing and tripping, determined to win,their hearts full of hope.
All the parents cheering them on as they crossed the finishing line - first,second and third.
Mr Mc Laughlin calling through the mic the names of the winners who were all so lurd.
But not forgetting all the rest, winners too for trying their best.
Now Sports day is over for another year, let's give all the children one big final cheer.
