Ulster American Folk Park
9th Jan 2025
As part of our WAU topic ‘Hunger’ the P6 children visited the Ulster American Folk Park yesterday. We had a great day and the children were able to deepen their understanding of what it was like to live in Ireland during the famine. They asked the education team great questions and our guide was very impressed by their knowledge and understanding of our topic. The coffin ship helped the children to see how difficult emigration was during this time and we were able to compare and contrast life in Ireland to the New World. Well done everyone for your super participation!
