Waste audits....the Eco Team in action.
The eco team have been busy doing waste audits over the past few weeks. They have been emptying, examining, sorting and weighing the contents of what goes into class bins, office bins and canteen bins. The children wanted to identify ways of improving waste management within the school and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. As a result of the audits the children have decided that we need to be recycling more within our school. Mrs Cunningham spoke to the manger of Brickkiln, our school waste disposal company, and he has agreed to provide the school wth more recycling bins. Mrs Cunningham will put more recycling bins around the school and the teachers will be encouraging each class to recycle more. The eco team will audit the bins again in two months time to check the difference we have made. Over the coming months the Eco team also aim to tackle the issue of plastic. What a great bunch of eco warriors!
